1 John 3:21–22 Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence toward God. And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight.
1 Samuel 15:22 So Samuel said: “Has the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, As in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, And to heed than the fat of rams.
Jeremiah 7:22–23 For I did not speak to your fathers, or command them in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt, concerning burnt offerings or sacrifices. But this is what I commanded them, saying, ‘Obey My voice, and I will be your God, and you shall be My people. And walk in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well with you.’
God, it pleases you when we obey, and like a good father, you have given us commandments that if we obey, things will go well for us. We pray that our hearts will aim to please you and to do right and good in your eyes. Let us know your commands and obey them without delay. Bless this church and answer our prayers when we follow your commandments. Be our God, and let us be your people all of our days. Amen.
